Where We Work

From the 400+ youth who call Yemin Orde Youth Village home, to the over 51,000 youth who learn at Village Way Educational Initiatives partner schools and communities, our impact is profound and far-reaching. We are dedicated to empowering the next generation with the skills, values, and resilience they need to thrive, ensuring a brighter future for all. Together, we are Impacting Israel.

Our Reach

Did you know...

VWEI works with and brings together educators from every corner of Israeli society, Jewish, Arab, Druze, Bedouin, religious and secular?

This means that Jewish facilitators mentor Arab school leaders. Arab principals exchange ideas with Jewish youth village educators. In these spaces of mutual respect, people who may never have met come together to support at-risk youth and build a more unified Israel.

Transforming Israeli Society

In addition to its work with educators who serve at-risk youth, Village Way Educational Initiatives (VWEI) is expanding its reach to bring the Village Way methodology to key partners across Israel.

Israel Defense Forces

VWEI  trains commanders and officers to lead with empathy, cultural understanding, and emotional resilience.

In 2024 alone, more than 2,400 IDF commanders took part in 39 training sessions. These sessions help them better connect with the diverse young soldiers they lead by strengthening communication, trust, and leadership across the ranks.

Justice System

At Ofek, Israel’s only juvenile prison, our facilitators train staff and officers to create a supportive environment focused on empathy, identity, and personal growth.

This work also reaches the Israeli Police and Border Police, where the Village Way helps build trust and cultural understanding between security forces and at-risk youth.

University Courses

The Village Way is helping shape the next generation of educators through university-level courses at institutions such as Hebrew University, Oranim College of Education, and Tel Hai College.

These courses are offered in both Jewish and Arab tracks and have received enthusiastic feedback from students. Many graduates of Village Way communities are also pursuing degrees at top universities, bringing the model into new schools and communities across Israel.

City-Wide Partnerships

In places like Harish, Ariel, and Modi'in Illit, VWEI partners with local governments, schools, and community organizations to build a shared educational vision based on Village Way values.

These citywide partnerships are tailored to each community and have led to new leadership forums, training programs for educators, and long-term improvements in how youth are supported.
