Explore Ways to Provide a Legacy

We are so pleased that you are interested in exploring the many ways in which to provide a legacy to ImpactIsrael.

The following are giving vehicles to consider for estate planning purposes.

Charitable Bequest

A charitable bequest to ImpactIsrael can be as simple as a sentence or two in the body of your will, and will ensure your legacy to support the Village and its youth long after your lifetime.

Sample Language
To make a bequest to ImpactIsrael the following model paragraph may be included in any will.

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to ImpactIsrael currently located at 4340 East-West Highway, Suite 202, Bethesda, MD 20814 (_______ percent of my estate; or the sum of $ _______ ) to be held and administered by the Board of Trustees of the said organization, for support of Yemin Orde Youth Village in Israel.

Life Insurance

A life insurance policy can name ImpactIsrael as the beneficiary while the donor retains ownership of the policy and has access to the policy’s cash value.  Although the face value of the policy will be included in the donor’s estate, there will be no federal estate-tax liability from the policy because of the estate tax charitable deduction.

A gift of life insurance can give you the ability to make a substantially larger gift than might be possible during your lifetime.

All planned gifts to ImpactIsrael are added to the Endowment Fund and may be designated to support a specific program of your choice.

Retirement Plan Beneficiary

A donor could name ImpactIsrael as the beneficiary of a Qualified Retirement Plan.  After the passing of the donor, the plan would transfer to ImpactIsrael and avoid estate and income taxes.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

A charitable remainder trust provides a lifetime income and a charitable income tax deduction.  The donor selects the payout rate, usually between 5% and 7%. The higher the payout rate, the lower the charitable tax deduction.  The donor receives an income every year for life or for a predetermined time period.

The payment can be fixed, or can be a percentage of the trust value and vary over time. This vehicle helps avoid capital gains taxes on transfers of appreciated assets. Estate taxes may be avoided or diminished.

Charitable Lead Trusts

Individuals with very large estates can use a charitable lead trust to benefit ImpactIsrael and pass principal to family members with little or no estate tax. Assets are transferred to a trust that provides payments to ImpactIsrael for a period of years. Then the trust principal goes to the donor’s children.

Named Endowment Fund

A special Endowment Fund can be established for a minimum gift of Endowment Fund wall$100,000. The fund can be named in honor or memory of a loved one and designated for a specific program.

The funds will be co-mingled with the other endowment funds of ImpactIsrael and an annual report regarding the income and disbursements will be provided to the family.

L'Chaim Society

Membership in our L'Chaim Society is offered to any donor who has L'Chaim Society Wallmade a legacy or outright gift to ImpactIsrael of Yemin Orde Endowment Fund.

The name L'Chaim has, of course, multiple meanings. It honors Chaim Peri, the remarkable educational visionary. It is also the traditional exclamation of celebration. The names of those who make an endowment gift will be celebrated with an inscription on the L'Chaim Society Wall of Honor at the Village.

Thank you for remembering Israel's at-risk and immigrant youth in your estate plans.
